Talking about Resolutions & the Passing of Time...

A couple of years ago I 'woke up' & noticed that I was sitting behind a desk 40 hours a week, then coming home to a hobby that kept me sitting... also, I realized my age - size 26 clothes & that fact that my mother had just beat breast cancer & 2 knee surgeries.. it was that day that I resolved to get up & move... I started walking; got a cute little music player & some 'steppy' tunes.. some days I wanted to quit, but some how kept going, just a half hour at first, then moving to an hour as time past & lately an hour & a half... today I am able to walk approx 7 kms each time I head out -without being winded & 'done' for the rest of the day... I walk this almost daily in all but the worst cold/wind weather... & during the past summer I choose to walk a 10 marathon in my community -that was a huge deal for me... also, I gave up coffee (with heavy cream & sugar) about the same time... no diet, just change of life style... 60 lbs gone..

my resolution for 2009: to continue this lifestyle change... I feel so much better... I may never be a fashion model or beauty queen, but I will know what I have accomplished & my friends & neighbors in my rural community know too...

I have the power & the inspiration!!!

for me walking equals breathing & breathing equals creating.... R ;)

  1. Thank you so much for sharing that. I moved East 5 years ago and with it came some sloppy habits and a lot of weight gain. I have been gearing up to start what you have achieved and hope to be able to say something like this in about 6 or 7 months. You go girl!!!

  2. Those of us that are lucky enough to know you, Rebecca...
You are definitely an inspiration, in the craft room, and out!
