Layer 1: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored in half to form the base of your card.
Layer 2: 4 1/4" x 1" *Note ~ you can consider using a piece of ribbon for this layer.
Layer 3: 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" (if you cut a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" in half at 4 1/4", then you can get 6 pieces out of one piece of paper.
Layer 4: 4x3" (consider using 12 x 12 or Designer Series paper for this layer ~ you will yeild 9 pieces with no waste!)
Layer 5 & 6: Measure your block of wood for layer 6, then matte that layer with a piece of cardstock that is 1/4" larger on two sides. (or you may illiminate this layer all together and cut out your focal point and place it in the same spot.)
Above all, create! Use the sketch as a jumping off point and make something beautiful!
